kumir_k9: (Halloween)

Today I have a brand new bunch of victims... uh, fellow employees who had no idea what I'm like at Halloween.  I got permission to turn the conference room across from my cube into a mini-haunted house.  It's only one room so I had to scale way back, but since most of the time I spend in there is in meetings, I'm used to it being Hell.  ;-)

None of the videos turned out all that well, so you'll just have to settle for stills.  A few of the low light photos turned out reasonably well and for full affect I've included the lighted versions as well.

It started out outside the conference room with the 7 foot animatronic reaper that was my prize acquisition from the auction a few weeks back and some scene setters and cemetery fence to keep people away from the mirror that was propped up against the window outside the conference room.

First, before pictures so you can see what I had to deal with for space.

From there we have a spidery scene on the conference room table on the left with a creepy, smoky, demonic face looping on the TV screen (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZVmUoM4RFo but without the logo because I purchased him)

And then the versions with the lights on so you can see all the stuff that people could see that cameras weren't picking up:

Various motion and sound activaed animatronics along the way:
- misting, lighted crystal ball
- faceless ghost that grows a face and moans
- bright, moving eye skeleton hovering over (and distracting from) the...
- leaping spider on the floor
- talking Medusa
- talking urn
- mirror with candles and appearing, talking face

There a was also a mirror at the end of the second run that made the room look much bigger.

The responses were quite favorable and I think made the proper impression on my fellow employees at HPO.  :-)

Special thanks to my darling wife for coming down and spending four hours the night before to help me with setup. That's true love. :-)

Hi Rick....I enjoyed your Halloween at your new employment and I am sure your new co-workers enjoyed your superb talent. "TMC" missed you this year from all reports, I didn't go up there this year, in fact I haven't been back since I was laid off, maybe 2 yrs. I am planning a trip but believe it or not I'm retired and can't find the time (its crazy). The change at "TMC" is difficult. Pat Bourdeau & daughter in Las Vegas living now. We were very close knew her for at least 30 yrs. Alyse is working at the "Bellagio" her dream come true. They are very happy there we e-mail and call each other weekly or monthly. So good to correspond with you Rick...great job as always enjoyed keep in touch. BYE

Great job as always Rick and Monique! Although we had a good Halloween celebration here at Marlin, it was just not the same without you. There were many people here disappointed that there was no haunted house this year. I'm glad your new co-workers enjoyed it. Have a great day!

And I love writing about them so it works out. :-)

How was your birthday? Did you do anything appropriate to celebrate?
