Having read the edit, I now feel much relief about this situation. Pancreas problems are often one of those where the only thing to do is go through the patient's pockets and look for loose change, as Miracle Max would suggest. Gallbladder, on the other hand, while I don't wish to belittle your mother-in-law's situation, is usually No Big Deal in terms of, well, you know, having major organs removed from one's body! It'll mean some diet changes, but this is usually accomplished for most patients pretty easily.
I will indeed hope for good news rather than no news, however. You guys have really been taking it on the chin lately, and I'm hoping you get a break.
