Friday night, Monique went in to NY with her sister to see Wicked.  This was the Christmas present for the sister and birthday present for Monique.  I went out to dinner with [livejournal.com profile] sans_peur  and had a lovely time talking mostly 7V and work.  I got home and did some redesign/overhaul work on my 7V character database and then crashed relatively early.

I'm getting either decadent or old, or maybe both.  I slept in until 8:30 Saturday morning.  I've been doing that a lot lately on weekends, but boy is it wonderful.  I was very careful to get up quietly and draw the shades on the windows so Monique could sleep in, because they got in after 2:00 in the morning.  I got downstairs, was there for maybe 5 minutes and the darned phone rang.  It woke her up before I could get to it and thus my plans for her sleeping in were thwarted (damn it).

Her older sister Lise came over to share birthday time and the four of us spent a fair amount of time sipping coffee and chatting (while I worked on balancing the checkbook, budgeting and bill paying and then finishing off the changes to my CP tracking database for 7V) and then we spent a couple of hours playing cards and games.  Beside Bid Whist (which my partner Nicole and I won), we also tried out a couple of games we got for Christmas.  The big winner is Qwirkle.  This game is not only a lot of fun, but it gave me some really good 7V ideas too.

Saturday night we went out to dinner and a movie.  Monique wanted to see "Extraordinary Measures". She's a sucker for Harriosn Ford.  Good movie, good acting, nice ending, real feel good story based on a true story.  I wouldn't rush out to the theatre and shell out lots of money to see it (oops, I just did), but definitely worth seeing.

Sunday was supposed to be "clean the house" day, but neither of us were really motivated for it.  Instead, we played three games of Qwirkle over the course of the day, interspersed with her working on stuff for work and me working on 7V stuff.  I'm almost caught up with sending out CP notice to people for everything.  I should be done by tonight or tomorrow night...

...which reminds me.  There are some of you out there who have talked to me about PCing 7V.  The character history early submission deadline for an extra free CP bonus is fast approaching and I still haven't seen your histories.  Get 'em in there: characterhistories@sevenvirtueslarp.com

Flute choir rehearsal was good.  We've really got some pretty decent talent across the board right now.  We read mostly new pieces last night and they were alraedy sounding good.  Monique even said there were some really good moments, and she's my second harshest critic (I can be pretty critical).

That's about it.  It was a good weekend, productive and fun.
