A little behind the times...
Jun. 18th, 2009 05:03 pmA while back people were looking for suggestions for character playlist. I told the people that asked me about it that I don't do such things, just never felt the need. I get into my characters just fine without musical inspiration. Today I decided I'd do it just for fun. I went through my entire iPod list and now have 38 pieces of my music on my Zephyr play list. So much for not having music for Zephyr.

Jul. 21st, 2008 06:06 pmI got the coolest note from a friend today that just absolutely made my day. It went like this:
Grum's Company had a little IG gather just this weekend and we generally posed questions to one another. When asked, "If you could spend time, or had to, with someone in Shadowfane that wasn't a member of Grum's Company, who would it be?"
The answer was largely "Zephyr" or "Oh, Zephyr, that's a good one. I change my answer. He's cool."
Just thought you might like to know. ^_^
That was so cool of her to share with me. I needed that kind of pick-me-up.
Ok, for most of you doing it, that's National Novel Writing Month. I'm reading it as National Note Writing Month.
Zephyr's patron (in Madrigal) has commissioned him to write a piece of music. I figure if I don't get going on it, it will never get done. I can be a horrible procrastinator on stuff like that.

wargoddess, who is patiently waiting for me to set a piece of music in writing for her. Sorry, I digress.)
I had to find the right lyrics first. I know it's cheating not to write the words myself, but I'm not really much of a lyricist. Now I'm writing music to fit it. I'm up to 140 notes on the soprano part.
At 242 words in the piece, assuming at least one note per word with 3 vocal parts plus 2 flutes and string bass, my lowball estimate is 1500 notes, so I'm about 9% of the way there.
...but I thought I'd share the major highlight that ran the entire course of my Madrigal weekend, from Friday night through Sunday morning, brought to you by the evil genius team of Tim Barry, Bob Hess, Beth Fallon and JJ McGill. I have shared most of these pieces with many players IG, so if you're afraid of meta-gaming any of this knowledge, you may assume I talked to you about it IG.
While the timeline of reporting may seem a bit strange, the chronology is important, so if it seems I'm jumping around, there's a reason.
create_universe, there's a lot of romantic crap here. You might want to skip it. ;-)
This one little plotline just made my whole weekend. The fact that four evil geniuses worked so hard to make my weekend just floors me. I'm told they had a very specific timeline of what had to go out when to get maximum emotional impact. They succeeded well. I can't wait to see where this goes.
This obviously will get huge accolades in my PEL, which is still forthcoming. Sorry all, I haven't had time to write it yet.
