As I was driving in this morning I passed a dead animal on the side of the road. When I see this kind of thing it saddens me when it's a deer or a raccoon or something like that. When it's someone's pet, like the cat this morning, it downright depresses me. I think abut my kitty sitting at home safe and sound and wonder how I'd feel if it were her. Would I ever know what happened to her? (Hey ryxander, did you ever find your ktity?) Would I want someone seeing her there to somehow try and let me know what happened?
I once had a dog named Lady. This was back when Monique was doing daycare in our home. On one of the coldest days of the year, one of the kids let Lady escape. She didn't come home that night. We did a lot of looking around and found that she had been taken into a vet by the people that hit her. They couldn't stop in time. She was injured badly and she didn't last the night, but the people took the time to bring her in. They tried to save her. I saw the body at the vet's. *choking up here* I don't know if it was better knowing or not knowing.
So those of you with pets, who may or may not have been in this situation of losing a pet, what do you think? Would you rather be in the dark thinking they might be ok or would you rather know the final outcome?
