So today alone, two friends have asked me if I had a good holiday weekend and it occured to me that I didn't write about it on my LJ.  I must be slipping in my old age.

Me, Monique, Chris, Amy, Lise and her husband all went down in our van to VA for the weekend for Christmas and New Year all rolled into one with her family.  The trip down Friday night was a little long, but uneventful.  My nephew Steven gave up his room for Monique and I.  We had a fairly low key weekend, not at all the drama-fest that usually comes with a gathering of Monique's family, with the exception of Steven's car accident on New Year's Eve, but hey, a couple hours of drama in four days is nuthin', so I'm not complaining.

We went to see My Fair Lady at the Kennedy center Sunday night. It was wonderful.  The set was astounding, one of the most elaborate I've ever seen.  The performances were all top notch, even though we had the understudy for Eliza.  The guy that played Eliza's father absolutely stole the show.  At the end of "With a Little Bit of Luck" the audience clapped so long, you could tell the cast was having a hard time holding the freeze pose.  This was my Christmas present from Monique.

The Pats game was... well, what can you say?  If you saw it, there's nothing more to say and if you didn't see it, you should have.  Great game and records for everybody.  Woo-hoo!

On New Year's Eve we sat around and played games.  When it came time to watch the ball drop, we had a tough time herding people into the TV room to watch.  Monique and I didn't really care all that much to get up and go watch and we ended up being the ones to push people in there.  I figured if I was going to be pushed in there, so was everyone else.  I'm like that.  On the bright side, it wasn't until the third replay of the ball dropping that we got everyone into the room, so I had to do the New Year's Eve kiss with Monique three times.  :-)

We had a lot of downtime for the weekend.  It was very relaxing and mostly stress free.  I have to say I enjoyed my New Year weekend.
