I surrender

I guess my body has decided that I've pushed the limit.  Last night on the way home I got a migraine, full blown, all the bells and whistles.  My vision started going, my right side got entirely numb, I was having trouble puttinhg a coherent thought together.  Yes, I pulled off the road and called Monique.  I have her on a quick dial button.  Fortunately, she was able to understand what was going on because in spite of only being able to mumble, she was able to figure out where I was and call Chris and Amy to come get me.

I went home and went right to my room.  I got up once during the night to take something for my head.  I got out of bed at 7:30 this morning.  I got to work late.  My head has been like fuzz all day.

I think someone is telling me I need something to break before I do.

Thanks

Thanks to everyone who sent along well wishes and friendly words of medical advice.   Just so I can alleviate a little concern for those who don't know my medical history, let me just give the nutshell version.

I am epileptic and also suffer from migraines.  I have been seeing doctors about it since I was 19.  It was finally concluded that they were the results of a head injury I had in an accident right before starting college.  Coincidentally (or not), this all started right after I entered college.

I have been on various medications and have not had a seizure in over 20 years, though I still get the migraines a couple times a year.

So the bottom line is that while this episode was a really bad migraine, it is not anything I haven't experienced before.  That's probably why I had the brains left to pull off the road when I did.  It is however a sign that my body is rebelling from the fatigue and stress I've been experiencing lately.  I will try to take it easy and get some rest at Ravenholt this weekend.  (Hey, is that snickering and eye rolling going on out there?)

Seriously, I've been looking forward to being humble, lovable Kumir for a long time and I think this weekend will be just what the doctor ordered for destressing.
