I'm not sure quite why, but I'm unusually cheery today.  Well, unusual compared to the last few months where work has been sucking the life out of me.  But I'm back to my usual cheery standards of before that.  Maybe it's the fact that today is the last day of work before Christmas.  Perhaps it's the upcoming holiday or the fact that I've been listening to Christmas music for the last couple of weeks.  Maybe it's the nice visit with vysern and rowansynwyn I had last night, the opportunity to help them out and looking forward to a more extended visit when we get back from NH on Friday.   Whatever, it's a nice change.

Tomorrow we're taking my dad out Christmas shopping.  In actuality, we've already done most of his shopping for him, well Monique has, but he wants to go out and do some on his own.  The problem is that he tires easily, so we've minimized the amount he'll have to do.  I think the fact of it is that he just likes to get out of the nursing home, so we'll happily accommodate him.

Christmas day we'll be at Randy's house with my dad.  Chris and Amy and Elijah will be coming up from CT as well that day.  Unfortunately, my mom won't join us and unite the family, so we'll be going to visit with her for a short time at the end of the day and extending our Christmas trip to NH by an extra day to avoid driving home Christmas night.

Monique has come to work with me today so we can leave directly from Marlin at the end of the day and head up for NH tonight.  We'll be staying up there until Friday morning.  So I'll be out of contact until at least Friday.  Merry Christmas to all my wonderful friends out in LJ land!  May you have many joyful days ahead with friends and family (and Christmas goodies and presents).  :-)
