So I'm sitting here listening to the rain fall and the sound of the thunder... thunder, what?  What's sad is that my first thought wasn't, "Thunder, it can't be, it's only March 29th.", but rather, "Four damage by lighting!".    Only 5 more days.

Stop, your going to make me start jonesing for NERO Opener, and that's still another three weeks away.

Do you PC Magrigal, or are you staff there?

Sorry Patrick. If you want to warm up for LARP season, you could come NPC Madrigal. *nudge, nudge, wink, wink*

I staffed Madrigal for 8 years, all through the first arc. By the end of that, I had been staffing in some capacity, at times for two games simultaneously, for 12 years. I was ready to step away from staffing and enjoy the game as a PC. So the short answer to your question is that I now PC Madrigal, and thus the icon of my character Zephyr.

I'm glad *someone* won't be grumpy if it's raining half the event. :-P

Well, Zephyr is never grumpy. Even when I'm grumpy, my blue alter ego doesn't show it. It's one of the perks of the character. No one has to suffer through my grumpiness (while I'm in game).

As to enjoying the rain, I figure if I'm going to be miserable (I hate rain), I might as well be happy about it. :-)

And so you're playing a stormdancer ... do you not hate rain when you're out in it as Zephyr? Putting yourself in a position where you feel obliged to do something that's very unpleasant out of game to stay in character seems unfortunate. Or do you not go out in the rain unless you need to even in character?

I hate rain. Zephyr likes rain. Have you ever played any LARP where you can stay out of the rain? People or situations *WILL* drag you out in the rain, no matter how hard you try to avoid it.

Stormdancer allows me to make the most of a bad situation. If I'm going to be out there anyway, I may as well get a little extra fire power (lightning power?) out of the deal.

And since Zephyr is always kind of cheery, it gives me a reason to be upbeat when I might otherwise act miserable. It's as close to a "win" as can be pulled from the situation.

I don't mind the rain, so I rarely try very hard to stay out of it, though I do like to be able to change into dry clothes afterwards. I'm pretty willing to say "had enough, going to bed", though, particularly since I'm bad company when I'm cranky.

Planning ahead to have a consolation prize when the weather is getting to you is terribly clever. :)

It's not going to rain; I'm tenting.

You are the reason it's going to rain. The universe is now at odds. Because people tent, it's going to rain. Because stormdancers get a benefit from the rain, it's not going to rain. Can you see the dilemma mother nature faces?

Yes. Last time I put the Universe in a state of paradox, it gave me the middle finger. Therefore, I predict snow.

What's gonna happen is this: Since I'm most likely non-combat active, but have a banner now, it will be nice while I'm sitting in the tavern, but it will rain like hell when I step out to use my banner.

There you go.

Aarrgh, I'm completely jonesing for Madrigal too. I can't believe I won't be at the event. I'm already missing it so much!! I hope you have a fantastic time.

I'm sorry. I wish you were joining us. I will miss you, I promise. Though I'm pretty sure your absence won't completely ruin the event for me and I will still have a fantastic time, as instructed. ;-)

Four more days. Thank God. At least my alter ego is in a recession-proof industry and financially well-off ;)
