Therefore the short version with more details later, maybe, if time ever permits, seeing as I still haven't written the details on Grumcon 09 from last weekend.

Last week was crazy busy at work.  It doesn't look like that will end any time soon.  It's getting almost laughable how bad that is and I don't see it ending any time soon.

In spite of work I've managed to get a fair amount done every night on my "to do" list at home in preparation for having 14 house guests this coming weekend.  I still can't believe Monique said 'yes' to that.  Of course it also meant we worked a lot yesterday too.  The house is shaping up really nicely and Monique is pleased.  That in and of itself is always a good thing.

I went to the 7 Virtues fund raiser Saturday with sans_peur and had a blast.  Fortunately, I was able to avoid the playtest portion under the pretense of having to man check-in.  The boss thinks I dislike that kind of stuff for some reason.  It's a great reason to hang and chat with the other people who just like to hang and chat instead of running around in the sun whacking people with sticks.

The auction and basket raffle and bake sale and pot luck dinner and panels were all cool.  I learned some interesting techniques in both spell casting and makeup.  I didn't get home until 1 in the morning and best of all didn't even catch hell for getting home so late.

So that was the short version.  Now back to work for another fun and exciting week of post-go-live hell.

Well, I had no idea whether there were people hanging out with you at checkin or if you were all sad and alone! Glad that the latter wasn't the case. :)

I don't entirely believe your claims to not like combat, though. At least one of my Madrigal NPCs certainly got a very favorable impression of your combat prowess and sheer delight in blowing stuff up with what I can only assume were Stormdancer skills. ;)

They were indeed stormdancer skills, well, except for the slam by wind, which is Eurvein of Air. What you are missing is the fact that I as a player recognize that I will invariably be forced to do battle at some points. I will also invariably be forced to do this out in the rain. As such, if I'm going to be miserable, fighting out in the rain, I'm going to be happy doing it. ;-)

And Zephyr is just always (well, almost) happy and cheerful and light hearted, even when out slaying evil in the pouring rain. So even if Rick is f$%^ing miserable, Zephyr is happy. So I can see where you got the wrong impression there. :-)
