Weekend

Wow, what a downer.  Monique has been in FL for a week because of her dad going into ICU down there last Saturday night.  Things looked really bad and all four daughter went and spent the week helping out and preparing for the worst (which fortunately didn't come).  She and I were supposed to spend this whole Valentines' Day weekend together.  In fact, it's the reason I skipped Madrigal.  The real downer is that she wasn't able to come back from FL until Saturday.  She didn't get home until Saturday night at 5:00.

She has to be in MD for three days for work purposes, so she left yesterday at 2:00.  This means that our "weekend together" consisted of 21 hours, during which time she had to work a fair amount of it in preparation for the presentations she has to do this week.  So not only did I skip Madrigal, but I didn't get the weekend that we both wanted so badly.  It was really depressing.

The consolation prizes:
- Bills caught up
- House cleaned
- Laundry done
- 7 Virtues work galore
- Dinner out with 11 wonderful friends from VA on their way home last night

Well, in all fairness it was kind of a last minute thing. I was hooking up with Steve, Kiera and Mark and when Steve called from the site just before leaving, the rest of the crowd found out and wanted in, but you were already gone. :-(

He had dinner with us instead, so it wasn't a complete loss for him, I hope. :)

We missed you so much this weekend! It just wasn't the same. Sorry to hear it didn't work out the way you wanted.

Of course that wasn't a loss for him. I'd have loved to have been him, sharing dinner with my family, not that I would have given up dinner with the folks I dined with.

It's kind of funny. Zephyr has been with GC officially less than a year and now I can't imagine being anywhere else. I missed you guys too.

anyone could have called. not a big deal, but this sort of thing has been occurring alot lately with my friends, and since i work 6 days a week, i dont get to see them often otherwise.

Sending lots of good thoughts to you and yours. I'm sorry you didn't get the fun weekend you had planned, especially for an unfun reason like medical emergencies.

I, too, missed you at Madrigal. I think we'll have some interesting talks next session, which I am greatly looking forward to.

Sadly not next session either. It is Mother's Day weekend and Monique is to be treated like a queen on this day which means no Madrigal on that weekend.

Since I already will not be there, we scheduled our vacation such that we will be coming back from two weeks in FL on that Sunday.

So the bottom line is we have to wait until the June weekend. I keep telling my self it is *only* four more months. Only... four... more... aaaaaargh!

Sad! I totally knew that, and had just blocked the painful thought from my memory. If I don't get to see you for Madrigal until the June event, then I hereby preemptively invite you to lunch on Saturday, so we can talk. So there. :P
