Rain, thunder, lightning, wind... an Eurvein of Air, Stormdancer's dream ... and it all stopped right before game on was called.  Yeah, those were the pre-game conditions.  Two of the three roads in were shut down due to cars being stuck in the mud.  Those of us there worked hard to get them out.  We did manage to push one back out.  The other one was there for several hours until we could get a two truck to come.

In the meantime, Rob carted people's gear in with his truck which was able to navigate the roads.  Then started the fun game of ferrying people out to a park and ride 9 miles from the camp, over hilly, winding, wet roads.  I made enough trips that we completely filled the lot.   Then I had the bright idea to check this plan out with the state police.  Yeah, no doube parking allowed, so the last load of people took us to the next closest lot which was 5 exits down route 84.

Bottom line, at least for me, is that I made it to the campsite at 11:30, just in time to have missed OOG opening, dead tired, everything still totally packed (though big thanks to klee39 for getting my stuff down to the site and into the hall for me so I didn't have to deal with that).  Facing an imminent game-on at midnight, not read for the game, looking at 45 minutes of make-up after unpacking and physically exhausted, I took the smart route and went to bed.  I figured I needed at least 7 hours of sleep more than I needed to game and knowing I won't sleep past 7 regardless, well, yeah, bed was the obvious choice.

So, what did I accomplish between going to bed and waking up?  I managed to get inducted into the Order of the Tome in the Inquisition.  That's quite an accomplishment for a sleeping man who hadn't even yet been given his test for inclusion into the Inquisition.  Damn, I'm good.  ;-)  And yes, there's a longer story and a reason for why it happened, but I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've achieved a goal like this while sleeping.

Saturday highlights: lots of elemental stuff, Inquisition stuff, vampire stuff (which I had to miss because it was that or Inquisition stuff and one of them was "optional", but which I got the full briefing on because, damn it, she's MINE!), music and lots of phenomenal roleplay with some of the best PCs ever, oh and a princess, and werewolves, oh yeah, and steam vents, oh yeah, and the annual gift exchange at dinner with Grum's Company (Valentine got my name again :-) and Ezrem was very happy with the "joke" part of my gift to her; WIN!).  I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff, but this is the "in brief" version after all.

Sunday highlights: Silly hour before breakfast (story time with Grum, hysterical), more music, more time with some of the best PCs ever, more werewolves.

5 1/2 - 6 hour dinner at Applebee's was wonderful.  I went through about four groups of people passing through for food and talk.  The drive home was tough, but totally worth it.

That's the whirlwind rendition, which is kind of appropriate for my character.  I'll try to expand more later, maybe after a PEL and other stuff.  All in all, a fantastic weekend.  Thank God I have today off to recover from it.  Now to off and celebrate our presidents.

We were at the same event! I saw you a whole three times! :D

Yes, I would have loved to be able to perform that for him! But it didn't seem right to do it without Chance, since it was her idea originally. We'll find another occasion to do it :3
