LARP weekend

7V happened this weekend, along with a whole lot of rain. I think I have discovered just how much water my mane can hold and it's impressive, as the people around me when I shook my head will attest. Sorry Tucker. I was worried about heat stroke this weekend. I should have been worried about pneumonia instead. Damn, it was cold.
I spent most of the weekend as my fuzzy headmaster, trying desperately to get Compassion interviews in. It's like trying to herd cats, and as a cat, I know what this is like. I definitely had some cool roleplay with people and I hope they enjoyed the intensity as much as I did.
I got to reprise the role of two characters' father. I love doing that. It's almost not even roleplay being the stern father figure. ;-) That particular role is a great deal of fun not only because of the role itself and the cool PCs I'm playing to, but because of the amazing individuals that make up my character's old adventuring team. They're just a blast to out and RP with. The interplay is so natural and easy going, almost like we've been working together for years. Special thanks to the four of you who did that with me.
Sadly, my musical partner Amanda could not be at the event and thus my Changeling bard Crevan was out alone. While I still enjoyed the role and certainly causing poor Valdis and Julian woe, it somehow felt a bit off to me. Of course by the time I came back in from that role, I could barely move my fingers. It was cold. Though I was delighted to hear that my recorder playing started just after someone accepted a marriage proposal and thus inadvertantly set off a perfect romantic encounter. :-)
The event was certainly not our best. The weather contributed poorly. We were not as prepared as we usually are. Still, I think it was a solid event and I'm looking forward to the PELs. I just wish I didn't have a Madrigal event this coming weekend so I'd have time to recover from the 7V weekend, do all my post event work and not worry about prepping for another LARP.
Happy Monday everyone. Have a delightful week.

Date: 2011-06-13 02:08 pm (UTC)That said, I think it was a pretty solid event. There were some things that got bumped that I wish weren't, but that's sort of the way of things.
I was so amused by that one run-in one of my characters had with Crevan. :)
