7V happened this weekend, along with a whole lot of rain.  I think I have discovered just how much water my mane can hold and it's impressive, as the people around me when I shook my head will attest.  Sorry Tucker.  I was worried about heat stroke this weekend.  I should have been worried about pneumonia instead.   Damn, it was cold.

I spent most of the weekend as my fuzzy headmaster, trying desperately to get Compassion interviews in.  It's like trying to herd cats, and as a cat, I know what this is like.  I definitely had some cool roleplay with people and I hope they enjoyed the intensity as much as I did.

I got to reprise the role of two characters'  father.  I love doing that.  It's almost not even roleplay being the stern father figure.  ;-)  That particular role is a great deal of fun not only because of the role itself and the cool PCs I'm playing to, but because of the amazing individuals that make up my character's old adventuring team.  They're just a blast to out and RP with.  The interplay is so natural and easy going, almost like we've been working together for years.  Special thanks to the four of you who did that with me.

Sadly, my musical partner Amanda could not be at the event and thus my Changeling bard Crevan was out alone.  While I still enjoyed the role and certainly causing poor Valdis and Julian woe, it somehow felt a bit off to me.  Of course by the time I came back in from that role, I could barely move my fingers.  It was cold.  Though I was delighted to hear that my recorder playing started just after someone accepted a marriage proposal and thus inadvertantly set off a perfect romantic encounter.  :-)

The event was certainly not our best.  The weather contributed poorly.  We were not as prepared as we usually are.  Still, I think it was a solid event and I'm looking forward to the PELs.  I just wish I didn't have a Madrigal event this coming weekend so I'd have time to recover from the 7V weekend, do all my post event work and not worry about prepping for another LARP.

Happy Monday everyone.  Have a delightful week.

As this was the roughly middle of the campaign event, I thought it was appropriate pacing and advancement. Lots of classes and tests to make Ring advancement go. Taking down 2 Fallen. Advancement/conclusion of things we'd been working on from year 1 (or day 1 in some cases). And Parents Visitation Day to boot!

Could we have used more... sure. Could've used less rain too. ;)

Thanks for all the hard work.

See, and I wasn't there to hold your hands to keep them warm!

You guys were very in my thoughts this weekend, glad to hear it went well as it could despite squalid weather. *hugs*

The weather was just awful. All of us came to the event prepped for it to be a little rainy and warm, and it was just miserable and cold. I actually fell asleep and then woke up shivering at one point Sat night before [livejournal.com profile] sarrciano got back from doing a role and joined me in bed (and thus provided warmth).

That said, I think it was a pretty solid event. There were some things that got bumped that I wish weren't, but that's sort of the way of things.

I was so amused by that one run-in one of my characters had with Crevan. :)

My only complaint is the weather. It was just horrible. Everything that wasn't the weather was awesome, and I'm just sad that the weather made me less able to enjoy it and unable to participate in some of it. I'll definitely be writing the Headmaster a letter, which hopefully will help deal with some of the stuff that didn't get to move in very helpful directions.

Boy, I had a great time except for the weather too. The skin on the bottoms of my feet has come right off due to prolonged exposure to horribleness. But otherwise had a fantastic session - really really liked going on both my Wisdom and Grace tests. The tests continue to impress me and are some of my favorite bits of roleplaying in the last few years :)

Alas, my natural mane is incomparable to the headmasters. :)

My NPC - "Please don't shake now, Headmaster. I moved under this tree for a reason."

I never did get to do my last compassion interview. There was one point where we were in the commons and I thought of it, just to look up from the wisdom book and find you were gone! Was going to try to ask about it Sunday, but that didn't work. Oh well, next event (yes, I'm coming back).

Don't worry, there'll be some kind of in game thingy with some kind of interview opportunity between now and the next Practicum, so hopefully we can catch you then!

Glad you're coming back! And I was so sad to hear you were sick -- glad you're feeling a bit better.

" Did something horrible happen to Siobhan?"
" No, to her family."
" But something horrible always happens to her family."
" Yeah, but..."
LOL Thanks for the perspective.

My pleasure. However, if you need something *more* horrible to happen to her family, do let me know and I'll see what I can do to oblige. :-)

Kristoff: There will always be music in our house.
(Crevan and others begin to play/sing)
Marjukka: How did you do that?
