Jury duty today.  I won't lie or bend the truth or make my situation sound bad or say the things people say to get off, but boy, I really hope I don't get selected this time around.  Timing sucks.

Once I was called to jury duty. It was going to be a very long and detailed murder case. I'd brought documentation and told the interviewer that I had ADHD. I told them that I was willing to serve, but that my attention problem might not make me the best choice for a case that could mean life or death for the defendant.

I was thanked and dismissed. I have only been called twice. The first time, they must have gotten everyone they needed quickly, because they never even interviewed me.

I shall send you some of my "get out free" mojo :)

the last time I was summoned, I was on the selection for a long drawn out intellectual property case. It was going to take 6 - 8 weeks for the trial. I told the clerk that I just could NOT be away from my job for that long. I could do a week, week and a half, but I am a 1 man IT dept, so there was NO real coverage.

The believed me and I was excused. No BS, no histrionics, just simple truth.

Good Luck

I've never actually been to jury duty. I got called, but then I moved (to another spot in the same town), and they sent me a note saying not to show up. It was bizarre.

Good luck not getting selected!

I've been picked for a jury twice but kicked off it before I even sat down both times. Not sure what made them decide against me

Engineers are typically kicked off quickly. Something about the analytical logical method in which they think. Lawyers find it hard to appeal to their emotional side...

Or some BS like that.

I've been summoned once, and they didn't even talk to me. I spent the day reading a stack of comics I'd brought with me.
