JDE Users' Group Conference

kumir_k9So for the next couple of days (Wed and Thurs) I'll be attending a conference at Mohegan Suns for the JDE Users' Group. For those of you who don't know it, JDE is an Enterprise software made by Oracle. It's also what the company I work for uses and I'm responsible for a lot of it. It also has... issues. Hey sans_peur, how was that for politic?
Anyway, I'll be going to 7 or 8 seminars over the next two days, listening to how other companies have handled some issues and what some 3rd party consultants recommend, undoubtedly in the attempt to sell you their services.
So, the bottom line is I'll be pretty much out of touch for the next couple of days, but I'll be checking emails and such at night at my hotel room, which is a Best Western down the road from Mogean Suns and not at the casino itself.

Ooo, ooo!

Ooo, and find out why those fucking note tables have all the same fields in two separate tables except for two fields.
And why they sometimes use julian date/time and sometimes use human date/time.
And why their tables disappear from JDE view if you modify the SQL structure to include a timestamp field. Yeah, find out that!
Also find out if there are any companies that are so desperate for help getting data out of their cracktastic system that they need custom external reporting done 'cause...you know, you know someone who might be available.
