So after far too many days of being either fatigued beyond functionality or laid out by migraine, I'm back to my abnormal self.  Thanks for all the well wishes.

Now, on to a topic near and dear to my heart, by dear brother Randy and the charities he supports, Guiding Eyes for the Blind and the New Hampshire Association for the Blind.  It's that time of year again for the annual dinner and auction on Saturday, November 12.  Last year was a grand time; marvelous company, great food a really fun auction.  If you can't come, then maybe you can donate items or services for the auction.

In any case, for more information or to buy tickets, please visit their site at http://2020visionquest.org/index.html.

It's coming up soon and I hope to see a lot of you there.  Chime in if you're already going.  Maybe your presence will be the one that sways others into going too and please boost the signal.  It's for a great cause, even if I am biased.

...I might show up.

Y'know, just 'cause I have nothing else to do that day. Oh, wait...I really DO have nothing else (but that) to do that day!

Err...in case my snarky reply sounds, well, TOO snarky for people who don't know both me AND Kumir_k9...

I'm the Fundraising Manager for this shindig - all the stuff Kumir_K9 said is totally correct - it's awesome and fabulous! It's held in Manchester, NH at The Derryfield, which is a gorgeous events facility overlooking the golf course with the White Mountains in the distance. The meals are delish (Randy described them as the best he's ever had at an event like this) - Prime Rib, Pan Seared Salmon, Cranberry-Walnut Chicken, or a Veggie Stuffed Tomato. We've got a DJ and Randy gives a presentation about some of the best aspects of the year's climbs and student presentations and so on.

Plus, we have amazing stuff at the auction - beautiful artwork, cool action/education themed packages, nifty gadgets, and so on.

We raise funds to allow Randy to present to kids around New England on achieving through adversity (he's presented to more than 7,000 kids this year and we're hoping to reach 10,000 by end of year, at no cost to the schools) and for two amazing charities: New Hampshire Association for the Blind and Guiding Eyes for the Blind.

Plus, well, it's just a fun time. AND you get to see Randy (and Quinn) in their spiffy suits (Quinn attends as an International Dog of Mystery).

So, yeah, that's why I figure I'll be there that day! Along with the incredible team of volunteers we have spearheading it all this year.

Even if you can't make it, we'll have a bit of a pre-event online auction going on, so you can get your bids in and help out.
