One more time for Monique
Feb. 22nd, 2007 06:46 amMonique had surgery about a week and a half ago and this time they decided to stitch her up and send her on to a National expert as her complications have now put her beyond this surgeon's abilities to handle. It's not that he did anything wrong. In fact, he's one of the best in the state and the team he's working with in various areas are all top notch. She has just developed issues beyond their capabilities. We don't know when that will happen. Her surgeon is looking into the best options for her. In the meantime, she's generally in a fair amount of either pain or discomfort and wearing a girdle type contraption for abdominal support and changing the dressings every day.
This morning, she woke up with a new hole fairly close to the stiches. It was leaking fluids. This has typically been the sign of another infection. She's going to try to see the surgeon again today. Hopefully it's nothing. I don't believe that for a minute. Thoughts and prayers gratefully accepted.
Update - Monique managed to get a 3:45 appointment. I'll put out results when I have them. Thanks all!
