One more time for Monique

Monique had surgery about a week and a half ago and this time they decided to stitch her up and send her on to a National expert as her complications have now put her beyond this surgeon's abilities to handle.  It's not  that he did anything wrong.  In fact, he's one of the best in the state and the team he's working with in various areas are all top notch.  She has just developed issues beyond their capabilities.  We don't know when that will happen.  Her surgeon is looking into the best options for her.  In the meantime, she's generally in a fair amount of either pain or discomfort and wearing a girdle type contraption for abdominal support and changing the dressings every day.

This morning, she woke up with a new hole fairly close to the stiches.  It was leaking fluids.  This has typically been the sign of another infection.   She's going to try to see the surgeon again today.  Hopefully it's nothing.  I don't believe that for a minute.  Thoughts and prayers gratefully accepted.

Update - Monique managed to get a 3:45 appointment.  I'll put out results when I have them.  Thanks all!

Medical update

Monique went to see one of her doctors today.  She drew blood for analysis and will have results Monday.  Monique is getting an antibiotic that should be effective against the most likely infections.  The doctor said this will not impact Monique's business trip up to Boston next week.  So the bottom line is that this basically a bump in the road on the way to the bigger solution and we can relax for the moment.
