What a busy weekend. I went into it with a 'to do' list of about a dozen items. I managed to get exactly... ummmm, half of one of them done. The problem is that while I had my own 'to do' list, I neglected to account for the lengthy 'honey do' list, which as all good husbands know takes priority over any silly list of things they want to get done. ;-)
Saturday also saw a wedding of the son of one of Monique's co-workers. This was odd because the wedding was at 2:30 in the afternoon and the reception was at 7:00 at night, so it totally screwed up a lot of Saturday. The wedding itself was the first full traditional Catholic wedding I've been to in a long time, with a full mass. The reception was a traditional Italian reception with huge amounts of food spread over hours. We finished eating after 10:00. Ugh.
Somewhere in between the two parts of the wedding I did manage to finish up most of the plans for the Haunted House I'm doing at work on Halloween for all my co-workers. I decided this year to scale back to what I've done a couple times before at work and leave the big public affair like I did last year for a year when Halloween falls on a weekend again.
Sunday Monique wanted to take Elijah pumpkin picking. So we killed an hour and a half trying to get Chris moving and by the time we went out for breakfast and got up to the farm it was almost noon time, so the whole morning was lost. However, the hay ride and corn maze were a load of fun with a four year old so it was worth it.
Sunday afternoon we did a lot of work around the house. Some of it was pretty strenous physically and I'm a bit sore this morning. At some point I have to lay off this physical labor stuff. :-p
Then came half a football game, interrupted by a flute choir rehearsal and a meager attempt at getting some computer work done before collapsing.
On the bright side, we did manage to sleep in both days so I won't be starting off the week totally exhausted. Happy Monday everyone! :-)
