Sleep deprivation

That's going to be the experiment I try tonight. If they're anything like Sasha was, a closed door is something to be scratched on until such time as it opens. We shall see.

Tape on the bottom 2" of the door worked wonders for Dex. He hated having his paws on the sticky side of the tape, and stopped poking at the door.

It took a bit of finagle to figure out where to put the tape, but it worked well.

Similarly, we have tinfoil across the bottom 6" or so of our bedroom door to discourage scratching while we're sleeping. Kitties do not like the feel of tinfoil under their paws.
