Ouch

I hurt in both arms, especially my right one and both knees.  I spent over 3 hours shoveling yesterday.  It was brutal.  By the end, I could barely lift my right arm.   On the bright side, I was smart enough to use my knees for the lifting, so my back doesn't hurt.  I came in with intention of getting some work done and laid on the bed for a couple minutes to rest and 3 1/2 hours later woke up.

Today, Chris and I loaded all of Nick, Nellie and Jason's stuff into a U-Haul which will be going to Stratford tomorrow to have its contents loaded onto a trailer truck for transport out to Michigan.  I had not yet recovered from yesterday, so my only comment on it is "Ouch!".  I'm getting way too old for this nonsense.  Time to crash again and it's only 8:15.

It can't be Sunday night already.  What a dreadful weekend.  I don't want to work tomorrow.  *whine*

Sorry to hear that you're feeling sore. Hope it improves quickly!

I shoveled a bit too, but luckily for me, "many hands make life's
work light". There are 6 semi able-bodied adults living in our
building, and 2 snowblowers. Overall we were out there
working at it for about 2 hours, but that included snowblowing,
shoveling and cars getting cleared off and moved. The rotation of
these activities between the lot of us meant that it was not TOO
bad on any one.

Glad to hear that there is an end and some closure for you on
that chapter of your life where you felt taken advantage of by
Nick and Nellie.
Sending good thoughts and prayers to/for both you and Monique
for improvement on the Health front.

Rick

You guys are in, what, Conn.? You *know*, if you ever do need, ahem, help with anything, there is a regiment, a regiment I say, of College Students that I can leash up to my car and mush out to help you!

Ah, I'm just getting old and whiney. The day I need college kids to do my work for me is, uh, getting closer and closer? Hey, can we pay them in CP for that kind of stuff? ;-)

I pay them in left-over b33r. And, c'mon now, like 1/2 of them are RISD students, so we can pay them in "found art." See something by the side of the road you like? We'll pick it up on the way back...

Very sad. But at least their stuff is out of your house.

I got home from being away from my apartment this weekend to discover that no one had done virtually any shoveling of our parking area. I guess I've sort of got no right to complain since I wasn't around to help out, but it seems like a little bit of effort could have been given to keeping our parking area into turning into jagged-sharp ice central.

It also seems to me that last time there was a large snow storm, you were the one out there working your arms numb shoveling. Shared parking areas are, in my opinion, a shared responsibility. Chris wasn't home Saturday morning, so I went out and took care of it by myself, though I was still working on it when he got home, at which time he came out to help. I would expect that if I were away for a couple days when snow struck, that he would do the same.
