Showering a cat

I decided to try an experiment this morning. I'm not sure why exactly. It could be because I decided last night Sasha has developed a flea problem. It could be because she was being playful while one of my hands was wet and she started rubbing her head against the wet hand.
Whatever the case, I took my kitty in the shower with me this morning. I thought sure I was in for a clawing. Nope. After checking out where the water was coming from, she snuggled up, put her head on my shoulder, threw her front paws out like she does when she cuddles and started purring. This went on for about 3 minutes while I massaged down her body under the water.
When I put her down, she didn't flee for her life as I expected either. She sat outside the shower meowing louder than I've ever heard her for the rest of the time I was in there. I've never heard her be that vocal. Weird.
I did learn something interesting, This procedure must raise whatever it is I'm allergic to in cats, because by the time I got out of the shower, my eyes were all itchy and puffy and swollen. But I have a clean, happy kitty.
Tonight we stop and get stuff to de-flea her.
