This week has been totally unkind to me in terms of free time.  Work has just been amazingly busy.  I won't even get into it.  Things are *relatively* quiet here today so I'm going to do a quick catch up.

So where did I leave off?  Oh yeah, last weekend.  We did a trip to NH, supposedly for the whole weekend, but the storm in the wee hours of Sunday morning cut that one short.  We took my dad out to do his Christmas shopping, had lunch with Mom, Chris and Amy, did $500 plus dollars worth of grocery shopping, did Christmas shopping and went to Ben, Kara, Gene and Michelle's Christmas party.

The party was a load of fun.  I got to spend time with all sorts of cool people I rarely see these days.  I'm so proud of my Christmas choir.  They did an awesome job and my one fear went unfounded because the person I most and least wanted their wasn't.  :-) and :-(  We even went out caroling around the neighbordhood which was loads of fun.  The reactions to the red-nosed reindeer hat were wonderful, as always, especially

[personal profile] ryxander's girls, who were wondefully cute and added to Monique's enjoyment of the party by bringing out her grandmotherly instincts.  :-)

Sadly, on the way home, rushing to beat the storm, I got stopped by one of MA's finest on the MA Pike.  Oh well.  First speeding ticket in 8 years.  I can't complain too much.

Also sadly, I somehow lost my wallet on the way home.  I think when I got out of the car to swap drivers with Monique, I must have knocked the wallet to the ground.  It's nowhere to be found in the house or in any of the stuff we had with us.  I went back and checked the rest area.  It hasn't been turned in.  This was the night of the storm, so I suspect my poor wallet is embedded in a snowbank somewhere.  :-(

I have now put a stop on all my cards.  I have a replacement license request in to the CT DMV***.  My company has put a stop to the corporate card.  I've already got my new debit card.  I've started switching over the auto payments on various web sites.

*** Amusing side note:  In CT, a valid driver's license is a valid form of ID that can be used requesting a replacment driver's license.  Does this strike anyone else as odd?

Monique found season 1 of West Wing last weekend in NH.  We are now rewatching that.  We have been watching 2 - 3  episodes per night.  What a great show.  the writing is nothing short of amazing and it's a pretty fine lesson in how our government actually runs.  We already own seasons 2 - 7 and will pick those up from her family in VA who we'll see on New Year's weekend.

We're heading up to NH at 3:00 today.  We'll go out shopping for each other's Christmas presents, probably tonight.  Tomorrow we're going out all day with Randy and Bren.  I believe we're going to the Christmas Revels.  Sunday, I'm playing two jobs with my old chums in the Nashua Flute Choir.  Last week's snow storm sort of did me a favor.  Because they couldn't have their concert last Sunday, they have snow dates this weekend.  Unfortunately for them, some of the members can't do it, so they've asked me to pinch hit for them and Monique graciously agreed.  Yippee!  Flutey goodness for me!  Then we're off to Monique's parents' place in Rochester for Christmas with her niece and nephew up there.  Monday I have no idea what we're doing and Christmas we're picking up my mom and dad and heading over to Randy's for the traditional family chaos.  :-)  We should wrap up this road trip on Christmas night.

So, if I don't post again before then, Merry Christmas to all my friends out there in LJ land!  If you don't celebrate Christmas, then have a delightful December 25th anyway and a very happy whatever holiday(s) you might choose to celebrate (if any)!

A very merry Christmas to you and yours, too! Sorry about your wallet -- what a pain in the @$$. At least you realized in time to do something about it.

It was wonderful seeing you at the party, and thank you for keeping Maya so well entertained! Not that she gave you much choice, I'm sure. :) I just wish that you guys had sung more carols AT the party before heading out, so we could have heard more! The few I did get to hear sounded amazing.
