This is especially meant to get feedback from my friends who are in the video game design business.

My elder son has decided that he wants to do something else with his life.  What he has decided is that he wants to take online classes in video game design. 

Are any of you out there in this business?  What words of advice might you have for him?  What should he get for education?  Where?  What can he realistically expect in this field?
