It was an interesting first full weekend event for me PCing Madrigal.  I certainly enjoyed the event.  I love my team.  Treska, Jennifer and Sam were a lot of fun to be with when they were around.  Sadly, I was seperated from them far more than I was with them due to various IG circumstances.   This left me on my own quite a bit.

The troubadour rehearsal helped take care of some of that.  Multi-part vocal works are so wonderful.  And they have a hall right on the lake, and 'by right on the lake', I mean the water laps at the pillars that hold up this beautiful porch big enough for 15 people to stand out and rehearse on.  I even spent a half hour of down time on Saturday afternoon sitting out on this porch playing my flute.  The sound going out over the water was wonderful and this kind of time makes for fun for me all by itself.

The most awesome part of the weekend was a moment provided by the daughter of the camp directors.  I'm guessing she was about 5 years old.  She was helping out by stamping peoples' hands after they paid for the meal.  She looked up at me and she very enthusiasically says "He looks like the wind!"  It was just so cute and it makes all that time doing the makeup worthwhile.

I spent many hours of great roleplay with fellow PCs.   That's always lots of fun.  I had tiny bits with NPCs, but they were in very short supply.  I'm guessing they were grossly understaffed this weekend.  I don't mind so much, but that means the field is slow and if you're not part of any of the targetted plots, you don't see much.  That's ok with me.  I keep myself entertained quite nicely.

I must learn my own skill sets waaaay better.  Halfway through the weekend I remembered I can deliver agony effects by packet.  This would have saved my butt a couple times and I totally forgot until we were talking after the event that I can throw disarms too.  *sigh*

On the bright side, I remember my twice event slam effect.  The first one worked beautifully on these really tough things that were kicking our butts.  The down side is that everyone around me took steps back *away* from it as it fell on its ass until I yelled at them to kill it while it's down.  Sadly, I used my second slam on something Rob was playing.  I should have known better than to waste it on him, but it would have been so wonderful to see him get knocked back on his butt.

Rob called the game right after breakfast because of the weather.  This was probably a very good call.  If we had all been cold and wet before starting breakdown, it probably would have been disastrous, in addition to all the poor people heading north into really lousy weather.

"Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...."  (If you have to ask, I can't do it justice here.  Ask me in person.  The people in the know will appreciate it.)
