New Madrigal rulebook beta version is out.  I have begun changing the character generation spreadsheet that is on the Madrigal Yahoo Groups page.  I should have it done by the end of the weekend for those of you chomping at the bit to begin reconfiguring your characters.

Edit:  As one of my gentle readers has sort of reminded me, they have hidden headers.  I have even built in some functionality so that people can have hidden headers accounted for on their sheets without me having to know what they are.

And auto-calculation of healing pools.

And better, more intuitive race selection.

Not chomping at the bit to change my character but I LUVS the spreadsheet. It's so sexy.

I do love the new Karma bit. I like how it's worked in Endgame as Resolve. I'm glad RJC picked it up.

Yeah...I'm still waiting on my secret/advanced headers to come out myself...but, as things stand right now...I have EIGHT headers and no longer have the advantage of a cheap (Arcane) fuel source to power them. Plus my headers were never cheap to begin with CPwise.

Having to buy attributes on top of the new skills...well, there will be pain.

EIGHT headers?!?! How many of them are secret headers? I may have to make an adjustment.

Well, for all intents and purposes, spell spheres were headers. They have a top cost for the sphere, and the skills under it have separate CP costs analogous to the costs of other headers.

Now, that is DEFINITELY true, since you use the same attributes you'd use for skills to power spells. For CP purposes, you really have to treat your spellspheres as headers, really. Subheaders, for chart purposes.

I'm a Highborn, Sorcerer, Wizard, Highmage, Archmage, with Primal, Chimera, and Sovereign. Thats 8 headers...or 3 headers, 2 advanced/hidden headers, and 3 sphers...depending on where semantics take you.

Of those, Highmage and Archmage are the secret headers, obviously.

Whew! *wipes forehead* That's all good for spreadsheet purposes.

Spell headers and skill headers that are in the rulebook are all covered already. I've made provisions for 4 hidden headers in addition. I was afraid I was going to have to expand that even further. My semantics say you still have room for 2 additional secret headers before I have to worry. :-)
